85:15 Standard Meadow Mix
The standard neutral soil formulation. Fifteen wildflower species including Common Knapweed, Oxeye Daisy, Selfheal, Meadow Buttercup, Ribwort Plantain, Cowslip, Salad Burnet and Yellow Rattle, supported by a five-grass blend dominated by Crested Dog's-tail and Red Fescue.
Suitable for road verge reinstatement, BNG neutral grassland creation, amenity schemes and wildlife corridors on well-drained to moderately drained neutral soils.
Soil: Neutral. pH 5.5 to 7.5
NVC: MG5 equivalent
BNG: Good Condition Neutral Grassland (Statutory Biodiversity Metric)
RHS Pollinators: 15 of 15 wildflower species (100%)

85:15 Clay Meadow Mix
Formulated for the heavy clay soils that characterise much of lowland England and frequently present on infrastructure and development sites. The wildflower palette shifts to include clay-tolerant species: Betony, Meadowsweet, Meadow Vetchling, Field Scabious and Common Sorrel alongside the core meadow species. The grass blend incorporates Meadow Fescue and Tall Fescue for improved clay soil performance.
Compatible with hydroseeding on engineered clay embankments and cuttings. Autumn sowing is recommended on clay to take advantage of firmer ground conditions.
Soil: Heavy to moderately heavy clay. pH 5.5 to 7.0. Tolerates seasonal waterlogging
NVC: MG5 equivalent
BNG: Good Condition Neutral Grassland (Statutory Biodiversity Metric)
RHS Pollinators: 15 of 15 wildflower species (100%)

85:15 Chalky Meadow Mix
Designed for free-draining calcareous soils including chalk and limestone sites, and cut-and-fill embankments where chalk geology is exposed. The species list reflects the richer floristic palette that calcareous conditions support: Cowslip, Kidney Vetch, Salad Burnet, Lady's Bedstraw, Hedge Bedstraw, Greater Knapweed and Wild Carrot alongside core meadow species. The grass blend is dominated by Sheep's Fescue, Crested Dog's-tail and Red Fescue.
Targets CG2 calcareous grassland as the NVC equivalent, supporting delivery of Good Condition Calcareous Grassland habitat units in BNG assessments. Autumn sowing is preferred on chalk.
Soil: Calcareous, free-draining chalk or limestone. pH 7.0 to 8.5
NVC: CG2 equivalent
BNG: Good Condition Calcareous Grassland (Statutory Biodiversity Metric)
RHS Pollinators: 15 of 15 wildflower species (100%)

85:15 Sandy Meadow Mix
For light, free-draining sandy and gravelly soils where moisture retention is the primary establishment challenge. The wildflower selection prioritises drought-tolerant species naturally associated with sandy ground: Kidney Vetch, Greater Knapweed, Viper's Bugloss, Lady's Bedstraw, Salad Burnet and Wild Carrot alongside core meadow species. The grass blend includes Cocksfoot and Tall Fescue for improved drought tolerance and ground stability.
This variant also includes small proportions of Devil's Bit Scabious and Perforate St John's Wort, two species of particular value to late-season pollinators that are well suited to free-draining soils. Spring sowing (April to May) is generally most effective on sandy soils.
Soil: Light, free-draining sandy or gravelly soils. pH 5.5 to 7.0
NVC: MG5 equivalent
BNG: Good Condition Neutral Grassland (Statutory Biodiversity Metric)
RHS Pollinators: 15 of 15 wildflower species (100%)

Specification and Supply
All four mixes are available in bulk quantities from 25 kg upwards, suitable for large-scale BNG, infrastructure and landscape schemes. Sowing rate is 4 to 5 g/m² across all variants.
Each specification sheet includes:
• Full species composition with percentage rates
• NVC community reference and BNG habitat type
• Three-year establishment and management schedule
• Soil-specific sowing guidance including notes for infrastructure and disturbed ground
• Hydroseeding compatibility notes
• Contact details and document reference
Bespoke formulations to ecologist specification are available on request. If your HMMP or LEMP calls for a specific species composition or a mix that sits between our standard variants, we can work directly from ecological survey data and consultant specifications to produce a named mix with full traceability documentation.
