British Wildflower & Grass Seed Producers
Since 2018 we’ve been producing wildflower seed with sustainability at its core. Working with farmers and landowners, we grow wildflowers on unproductive arable land and harvest seed from native meadows as part of their long-term management.
Using adapted machines from our grain stores, we clean and separate single species before blending them into mixtures that balance ecology with visual appeal. Our wildflower seeds support pollinators, restore habitats, and bring lasting colour to gardens and landscapes across the UK.
Quality Seed You Can Trust
We are proud to be one of the UK’s leading independent grass seed processors. Our state-of-the-art facility is built to the latest industry standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and full traceability in every batch.
Working in partnership with leading grass breeders and British farmers, we clean and process British-grown seed and produce seed mixtures for gardeners, farmers, landscapers, and biodiversity projects across the UK.
Happenings At Kent Seeds
Field Notes is our journal, a place where we share stories of the seasons and the small details that make what we do more than just a business. There's a lot that happens between sowing and dispatch that rarely makes it onto a product page. From harvest updates and new product thinking to a peek behind the scenes of our seed store,
Field Notes is where we open the gate and let you in. No marketing fluff, no polished spin, just honest insight and real updates from the people who care deeply about every seed we produce. We hope you enjoy it.
Rooted In Kent Since 1879
Our family has nurtured a deep connection with the landscapes of the Kent countryside for more than 145 years. It all began in 1879, when Thomas Denne and his three sons bought City Mill in Canterbury and started producing animal feed for the city’s largest army garrison. Today, the fifth generation of our family, Fred, Anna, Andrew & Charlotte manages multiple levels of agricultural and amenity seed along with pulse processing and
exports. In addition, we produce native wildflower seeds across 350 acres in the North Downs and Weald of Kent. In September 2026, we will further expand our capabilities with the launch of our new BRCGS-certified processing and packing line for pulses and other seeds, reinforcing our commitment to quality, traceability and the highest industry standards.
