Our roots run deep in the soil of the southeast. For over 140 years the Denne family has been trading as T Denne & Sons, serving growers across the region since 1879.
We’ve been processing grass seed since 1935, building a reputation for quality and consistency through generations. Now led by the fifth generation, our family business continues to evolve while honouring the traditions that define us.
Today, we are proud to be one of the UK’s leading independent grass seed processors, processing and packing British-grown grass seed, and supplying high-performance mixtures for agriculture, landscaping, conservation, equine, and amenity use.
Sowing the Seeds of Diversification
Alongside processing grass seed we are proud to be one of just a handful of native British wildflower seed growers – a move that reflects not just diversification, but a return to our heritage. From the 1940s to the 1970s, our forebears operated three garden seed shops across Ashford, Canterbury, and Deal.
In 2019, we expanded into wildflower seed production – complementing our core seed business and drawing on a deep history of seed knowledge and land management. We harvest seed from established meadows and cultivated strips across Kent, offering regionally appropriate wildflower mixes that support pollinators, biodiversity, and sustainable planting.
