Suitable Sites and Applications

The Wayside Meadow Mix is suited to sites where a degree of robustness and height variation is both acceptable and desirable. Typical applications include:

  • Rural road verges and highway margin reinstatement
  • Field margins and farm track edges under agri-environment schemes
  • Hedgerow base restoration and wildlife corridor planting
  • Informal amenity grassland where a managed meadow appearance is not required
  • Brownfield fringe and edge-of-settlement habitat creation schemes

On highly fertile soils, reduce the sowing rate to 3 g/m² and ensure a weed-suppressed seedbed to allow the slower-establishing wildflowers to compete.
