Suregrow fertiliser has been created with animal wellbeing and pasture health at its core. Unlike many conventional fertilisers, its gentle, controlled-release formulation supports slow, steady growth. This helps avoid the soft, nutrient-rich flush that can be problematic for horses, particularly those prone to laminitis or weight gain.

By promoting strong root development, Suregrow improves both the density and durability of your sward, helping your pasture withstand grazing pressure, drought stress, and general wear.

Suregrow is especially useful in early spring to kick-start growth and again in summer or early autumn to maintain sward quality into the colder months. Its pellet format allows simple hand spreading, making it ideal for smaller fields, stable yards, or areas where machinery can’t reach.

Best of all, horses do not need to be removed from the field when applying to grass at least 50mm high, making management easier and less disruptive.

A practical and reliable choice for equestrian properties, smallholdings, and mixed-grazing systems looking for simple, effective land care.

Suregrow fertiliser is ideal for:

 ·     Equine paddocks

·     Smallholder or hobby farm grazing land

·     Managed pasture where animal health is a priority

Suregrow is straightforward to use and fits easily into your normal pasture-care routine.

·     Apply in early spring through summer to boost active growth.

·     An autumn application helps maintain grass quality and gives the pasture a strong start the following spring.

·     Ensure the grass is at least 50mm (2 inches) high before spreading.

·     Avoid application during very wet conditions to reduce soil compaction.

·     Use a mechanical spreader for larger areas, or spread by hand for smaller paddocks and tight spaces.

·     If rain doesn’t arrive soon after application, a light watering will help dissolve the pellets and activate the nutrients.

Within a few weeks, you should see stronger, thicker, greener growth, improved grazing quality, and better resistance to weeds and poaching.

Q: What is the difference between Suregrow Fertiliser and a standard
agricultural fertiliser?

A: Suregrow is a slow-release,
specialist fertiliser designed specifically for grazing situations (e.g. horses, ponies). It releases nutrients gradually over a few months to promote steady growth and thicker turf, rather than rapid lush growth that many standard fertilisers encourage.

Q: When and how should I apply Suregrow?
A: Apply when the grass is at least 50 mm (2 inches) high. Ideal times are early spring for a growth boost, and again in summer or early autumn to maintain pasture quality. Use either a mechanical spreader for large areas or apply by hand in smaller/awkward spots. Avoid very wet conditions to minimise soil compaction.

Q: How long until I’ll see results after applying Suregrow?
A: Results depend on conditions
like rain and soil. Typically, you’ll begin to see improvements in 3 to 4 weeks
after application, once the slow-release nutrients start taking effect.

Q: Can grazing animals (like horses) stay on the field after I apply Suregrow?
A: Yes. If the grass height is
at least 50 mm (2 inches), animals can remain in the field immediately after
application, thanks to the product’s safe formulation.

Q: Will Suregrow help control weeds like buttercups or clover?
A: While Suregrow doesn’t directly kill weeds, by encouraging a dense, healthy sward it helps grasses out-compete some weeds (e.g., clover and buttercups) by reducing open space for them to establish. For heavy infestations, you may still need weed-specific control.

Q: How long can I store leftover Suregrow? Does it have a shelf life?
A: Suregrow does not have a
specific shelf-life; as long as it’s stored dry and under cover (avoiding
moisture), it remains fine to use.

Q: Is Suregrow suitable for fields used for hay or haylage?
A: Yes – it can be used for hayfields. However, for hay/haylage you may also need to apply potash (which Suregrow does not include) to replace nutrients removed by harvesting.
