Our Cottage Garden Wildflower Mix combines the nostalgic beauty of traditional flowers with modern biodiversity benefits.

These wildflowers create a dynamic display of colour, form, and height. As the mix contains both annuals and perennials, you’ll enjoy quick colour in the first year and sustained flowering in subsequent seasons as the perennials establish.

Ideal for sowing in spring or autumn, this mix thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, it requires minimal care and is well-suited to low-maintenance, wildlife-friendly gardening. Whether you’re filling a border or creating a wild patch, this blend adds life and movement throughout the growing season.

This mix is perfect for cottage gardens, informal borders, wildflower meadows, and pollinator strips. It provides vital nectar and habitat for a wide range of insects, including bees, hoverflies, and butterflies. The diverse flower forms and extended bloom time support garden biodiversity and offer visual interest from spring through autumn.

Sow the Cottage Garden Wildflower Mix directly onto prepared soil in early spring or autumn. Clear the area of grass and weeds, rake to a fine tilth, then scatter seeds evenly and press into the surface, do not cover with soil, as light aids germination.

Water lightly during dry spells until seedlings are established. Many annuals will flower in the first summer, while perennials will establish a strong root system and bloom from the second year onwards.

Cut back spent stems in late autumn or leave over winter to provide shelter and seed heads for wildlife. Mow or strim once annually (late summer) to help regenerate the meadow and encourage reseeding.
