50% Kent Indigenous Ryegrass
25% Creeping Red Fescue
12.5% Amenity Perennial Ryegrass (1)
12.5% Amenity Perennial Ryegrass (2)

Note, two different types of amenity perennial ryegrass will be used in this mix. Different ryegrass cultivars have varying tolerances to stressors, such as drought and cold, and by combining two (or more) varieties, a lawn seed mix is better equipped to handle a range of conditions across seasons or years.

1. Where can I use the Utility Hardwearing Grass Seed mix effectively?
This mix is a real workhorse—perfect for larger, practical spaces like orchards, car parks, or even rougher garden areas. Utility hardwearing grass seed is ideal where you need good ground cover that won’t mind being walked or driven on.

2. Is utility hardwearing grass seed easy to maintain?
Yes, it’s wonderfully low-fuss. This coarser mix grows slowly, so you won’t be out mowing every weekend. It’s a solid option if you want something green and reliable without too much effort.

3. Should I sow more utility hardwearing grass seed in high-traffic areas?
That’s a really good idea. If the space sees a lot of wear—like paths, gateways, or play areas—sowing at a slightly higher rate helps the lawn fill out better and cope with heavy use.
